First we begin with an examination of your ear canal and outer ear, then we proceed with a test for the middle ear, A tympanogram can tell us if you might have a conductive (mechanical) problem with the middle ear; from pressure behind the ear drum  to calcification of the ossicular chain. We then conclude our testing with a pure tone air frequency test (push the button) & a speech test that actually shows what you might be missing. We may also see a need to do some specialty tests like Bone Conduction & Masking if one ear is substantially different than the other
